About DaddyDADDY ROLO AKA ROLO 1-3 LION KING ENT/ LONESTAR SOUND Wow, I’ve been in the game for 20 years now. Started djing in 1983 with a group called Bass Invaders (Al-B, Big Ben & King Son. We did weddings, school dances and private parties. During the 90’s and over the next 10 years, The Pirate DJs, (myself, Mind Motion and DJ Ivan) went on to become the top DJ crew on the West Coast. I djed the Reggae Dancehall show on KMEL from 1995-2000. Plus, I had a show “Pirate Radio” (with Mind Motion & DJ Ivan) from 1997-2002. Then, I took some time off to focus more on my own sound system "Lion King Sound/Entertainment", producing a series of remix records "Sound Clash Ammo 1-4/Deadly Mix Records " and promoting Reggae Events. In 2003, I began promoting a bi-monthly event every 2nd & 4th Saturday “Reggae Gold” and a weekly Thursday night party “Give Thankz”. Reggae Gold has now become the most anticipated after-hour Reggae Dancehall event in Northern California. “Reggae Gold SF” was such a huge success that my team and I decided to expand to the East Bay, and have now become a stapled foundation in the Bay Area for Reggae Dancehall music. The Reggae Gold party was voted 2008 Best Reggae Party on Both Sides of the Bridge by the SF Bay Guardian Newspaper. In 2009 we plan on bringing Reggae Gold to other cities in the Bay Area. In 2005, a new chapter in my life opened and I teamed up with my Lonestar Sound System Crew (Uni-T, Mendoja, & Mar Smoov) and started hosting an internet radio show “Deadly Mix Radio” every Friday on www.bigupradio.com and Itunes Radio. The Deadly Mix Internet radio show keeps the hottest Reggae Dancehall, Roots, and Lover’s Rock in rotation. Over 4 years strong, Lonestar Sound continues to introduce brand new music, exclusive blends, and hip-hop mashups to the listeners on a weekly basis. Also, we have promoted and deejayed several Reggae Shows, with artists such as Spragga Benz, I-Wayne, Bascom X, Shinehead, and many more. In addition, my Lonestar Sound Crew won the Club Dread’s Annual Sound Clash in 2007 and produced several mixcds. In 2007, Big Von gave me an opportunity to return back to 106 KMEL with a Dancehall Mix show “Deadly Mix Radio” every Saturday @ 1AM P.S.T. Now, I am currently bringing the listeners in the Bay Area and abroad on 106 KMEL the latest music from the Hottest Artist in Jamaica, Trinidad, & the Caribbean by fusing together reggae dancehall and hip-hop. So, Keep it Locked...Daddy Rolo and the Lion King’s Movement continues to satisfy the people, artists, and venues with a wicked reggae sound and style to be recognized for years to come. Fans
